It's Thanksgiving Day! And we have a lot to be thankful for. Last year Kayla and I could not be with Garrett and as depressing as that is, being a military family it wasn't the first time, and it won't be the last. We are so truly thankful to just be with each other and have these holidays that we do have to spend with each other. It was just the three of us this year for the day, we were going to spend it with our friends the Anderson's (sorry guys), but I was pretty sick this week and we decided it would be best to have just a quiet relaxing day at home. I got a whole turkey breast to bake and Kayla was really in to checking on it every few minutes.

Garrett always enjoys his annual carving job

We had a trimmed down version of the typical Thanksgiving dinner. YUMMY!
It was very exciting this year because Kayla as able to enjoy all that was on the table!
And enjoy it she did. (don't worry she did not eat all this food on her plate.)
Then time for some pumpkin pie. More Yum! It was Kayla's first........
and I think she liked it.
So much so that when daddy rudely ate the last bite off her plate she was not to happy :(
But never fear, daddy shared one last piece with her and all was well. It was a beautiful day today, the weather was great and we were able to go outside and play for a while. Our neighbors across the street have two ADORABLE boxer puppies and Kayla LOVES them. She burned off a lot of energy with them and then took a nap protest free. All in all, a really great day and one Thanksgiving that will be fondly looked back on. We miss and love our friends and family back in SD and wish you guys, and all of our other loved ones around the States a Happy Thanksgiving! God Bless.
