At the start of August Garrett started a new position as a Company Commander! For our civilian friends, that's kind of a big deal! It's one of those important steps in an Officer's career progression and it can really 'make or break' you. Our company is fairly large {close to 200 soldiers} so he's been very busy working loooooooong days {thankfully it's just a year long assignment!} As with everything in the Army, a traditional ceremony accompanies the change of command where there's a symbolic hand-off from the outgoing commander to the incoming.
The kiddos and I sat front and center ..... I can not confirm or deny that there was a bribe involved if they sat quietly and respectfully for the entire ceremony........ but they did have cake afterwards ;).
