Flashdance / Zoo

A couple of weeks ago Garrett was channel surfing and stopped on the movie Flashdance for a few minutes during the classic scene when Jennifer Beals was doing her work out dance to Maniac.  It immediately caught Kayla's eye and her feet were in tow.

This week Garrett in on leave so we have been enjoying some much needed family time.  To kick it off, last Saturday, we made a little day trip to the Zoo.  It's about an 1 1/2 hour drive one way so we got everything ready the night before and jumped in the car as soon as we could that morning.  We didn't tell Kayla where we were going, just that it was a surprise.  She was so excited and was trying to figure out where we were going the whole car ride.

Gavin did great the whole way there :) 

When we finally told her we were at the zoo she was ecstatic and immediately began listing off the animals she wanted to see.  At the top of the list were giraffes, closely followed by lions, monkeys, and penguins.

Kayla had her first experience with frozen lemonade;

she thought it was just ok.  (ps...in the background you can kind of see our new stroller, the Joovy Caboose Sit and Stand.  It is AWESOME.  LOVE IT.  The perfect stroller for families with a baby and an older toddler/preschool age child that wants to walk most of the time but still needs a little break every now and then.)

Of course I have to add a few of my little man.  He has smiles for just about everyone these days...especially his big sister.
