Yesterday we were finally able to go get our Christmas tree! Garrett had been in the cold rainy field for a little over a week and surprised us by coming home a day early. It stayed dry long enough for us to get bundled up (it was about 40 when we went out) and follow the signs to the local tree farm.
Despite the cold we had a great time weaving in and out of the rows of trees in search of the perfect one.
After getting home and breaking for naps and hot cocoa (for Garrett and I, Kayla says hot chocolate is 'yucky' and wants nothing to do with it, go figure), it was time to decorate the tree. This was Kayla's first year joining in on the decorating and she loved it. In fact she continues to decorate every day as she finds new limbs to rehang her favorite ornaments.
In true Carr, Disney loving fashion, Tinkerbell has the honored spot at the top. (note Garrett is actually trying to hang her as Kayla is covering his eyes. Gotta love those family moments!)
We ended the day with a little daddy / daughter baking time.
