Christmas

And so Christmas has come and gone all ready! What a great holiday; to stop and take a moment to celebrate our Savior's birth and ultimately the reason for his coming to earth at all, and memorable memories made with the ones we love! This was a fun Christmas for us. Once again it was just the three of us spending a quiet relaxing day at home in our warm comfy clothes. At 2 1/2, this was Kayla's first year really getting involved in the decorating and overall excitement the holiday brings, and it made for some really awesome memorable moments for Garrett and I. On Christmas Eve night we got in the kitchen to make sugar cookies for Santa.
It was fun for all, but Kayla was much more interested in eating the cookies herself rather than sharing with Santa.
Garrett and I learned that we REALLY need to work on our decorating skills because the sad thing here is that you really can't tell which ones Kayla did from the ones we did. Go on, take a guess.
Then time for a little note to Santa and off to bed.
And of course the next morning was the main event. The days leading up to Christmas we had left the tree area present free because there was NO holding Kayla back from ripping into them. So when she came down in the morning not only was the big 'Santa' gift in the kitchen nook a surprise but so were the gifts under the tree.
During all the chaos Smokey found a safe spot under the tree skirt.
Over the weekend we spent a little time outside,

and dug up some of Kayla's old baby stuff in preparation for Gavin to make his appearance, hopefully any day now.

And that was our Christmas weekend. We miss all our friends and family around the States and hope you guys had a great Holiday as well!
