West Produce

This morning we took a little break from the endless unpacking and followed the roadside signs to West Produce. It's this awesome little working farm that's open April - Thanksgiving. Among their fresh produce (always love to support the local grower), right now they have pumpkins and hayrides. We wanted to sneak this little field trip in before Kayla's morning nap, so on the way there she was a bit fussy; but as soon as we got out of the car and she saw the tractors pulling the hayrides and all the animals she immediately began screaming with delight. It was so much fun.

Of course we had to take some classically traditional pumpkin patch photos! Kayla was definitely more into looking around and figuring it all out then posing and smiling. But still, this years experience was by far better than last year. We were in Colorado, it was freezing, she was about three months old, not happy, screaming, and we were all to stressed out to enjoy it.

She even picked out her own little pumpkin.

Things are finally starting to settle down for us. The unpacking is getting done slowly but surely. We love our new neighborhood so far. All most all of our neighbors are military, we like to joke saying it's like living in post housing but off post. We've met a few all ready and it seems like there are a lot of young families with stay at home moms that I hopefully will be able to connect with. Garrett hasn't started work yet and won't until late next week, so that's been real nice. Living here is definitely more different than anywhere we've been so far. There are a lot of densely tall trees so you can't really see out very far when driving. It's very pretty and green, although the colors are turning. Our town of Spring Lake is north of Ft. Bragg and there's nothing much out here. To do any major shopping or entertainment we have to go south of post to Fayetteville, which is about 20-30 minutes. The next item on our list is to find a good church.
