One advantage to living out here in the country is that we come upon these random little home made signs saying such and such farm this way. That's how we found West Produce with their awesome pumpkins and veggies. So today we decided to try our luck again and follow the signs to a Christmas tree farm. After about a 10 minute drive we literally pulled into someone's backyard where they had lines and lines and lines of fresh trees waiting to be cut down. The guy handed us a saw and said have fun. And FUN we did! As soon as we got out of the car Kayla was off checking it all out.

We asked her which one she wanted
but of course she just couldn't make up her mind! People say they look alike, but I honestly don't see it.
It turned out pretty much all the fresh trees left were either to big or to small, so we ended up picking one out from their all ready cut bunch. I was a little bummed because I was really looking forward to getting some great action shots of Garrett putting on his lumberjack hat and cutting down the tree, but oh well. The one we ended up with is beautiful and we love it. I'm sure you'll see it all dressed up in coming posts.

and just to remind us that yes we do live in a serious military town a Chinook helicopter landed RIGHT in front of us.
Very cool. Needless to say, it was a great morning, another life experience for Kayla that she thoroughly enjoyed, as we all did.
