Spring Soccer

Spring is upon us and you know what that means.......soccer season!  Because of our brief time in Arizona last Fall we took a season off from the sport so we could spend our Saturdays exploring.  Kayla was a little bummed, so when I told her I signed her up this season she was over the moon excited!  She's had about three games so far.... the season runs through mid-June.

This game was a special treat because my dad and Phyllis were there for it!  In three seasons of soccer this was the first time a grandparent got to be there!

She loves it!  This is her third team now and we can definitely see her growth over the seasons.  Gavin enjoys watching and cheering for her too; we're ALL pretty excited to cheer him on next year when he starts TBall :)

Before I close out this post, I wanted to include a few last minute random pics from Papa Derwin and Grandma Phyllis' visit.  You know from my last two postings we were pretty busy running around town seeing the sights, but we also spent a few days home relaxing :)

Papa got roped into playing the longest game of chutes and ladders ever, hahahaha!

We had some truly beautiful days and played outside a lot!

A great soccer game and an even better visit with Papa and Grandma!  Thanks for making the trip guys, we miss you all ready!!!

Kayla is getting so big! Love it:) We signed Ben up for soccer and t-ball this year and he definitely likes soccer better b/c there is more action- just an FYI in case Gavin is the same way:) Also, you should try to see Mount Vernon while you are there- I thought it was really nice as well and don't forget about hiking around there. AND since you are close to Charlottesville (kind of), don't forget about Monticello and hiking and apple picking...just saying:)

Kimberly! It's funny you mention that about Tball because I was JUST thinking about that possible 'problem' for next year. Thanks for the tips! Mount Vernon is definitely on our list of things to do in the Fall :)
