Old Friends!

A couple weekends ago Kayla had a 4-day break from school due to 'professional development' days for the teachers.  My old neighbor and friend, Molly, and I thought it would be the perfect time for a reunion visit!  We live only about 5 hours apart now so it was an easy drive for her and the kiddos {Sam and Anna.....their daddy is currently serving this fine country overseas}.  It was a complete surprise to Kayla and Gavin; and Kayla was definitely overjoyed to see who was waiting for her after school!
*photo compliments of Molly*

It snowed for most of the day they arrived...

So the next morning we had a fresh crunchy blanket to play on!  The last time we all played in the snow Gavin was napping in the warm house and Anna wasn't even a bun in the oven yet!

The fine art of making snow balls...

and tossing them at me while I try to turn away!

After our fun day in the snow we ended up being stuck in the house for a while because it was COLD and the ground stayed moist/muddy for a long time as the snow melted.  So we did things like make pizza...

played games...

movie theater night...

girl talk...

and dance parties!

All that time indoors made us really appreciate our early, easy and mellow play dates with toddler Kayla and baby Sam!

Finally..FINALLY..the opportunity came for us to get out of the house.  {ps that third row in the Pilot rocks!  Those are full size Britax car seats fitting comfortable back there ;) }

We all had a bit of cabin fever so an outing to the Maryland Science Center in Baltimore was welcomed with open arms.

digging for fossils...

and measuring footprints.

The kiddos were all wild about these easy to navigate learning stations..

This science center was fantastic!  And HUGE; there were a few rooms we didn't even get to, including a planetarium and IMAX theater!  We'll definitely be going back with daddy in the near future!

Thanks for coming up guys!!  It was a great visit and we can't wait for the next one!
